Wandeling van Buiten naar de Natuurkamer

Er zijn twee mogelijkheden:

  1. Start bij Buiten:
    Loop naar buiten en ga daarna links richting het kabelbaantje. Je kunt linksom of rechtsom langs het water lopen.

Loop zonder langs Buiten te gaan:
Loop rechtdoor, laat Buiten links liggen en het kabelbaantje rechts.

Je loopt verder tot je bij een zebrapad komt.


Steek over en ga direct naar links en blijf 120 meter langs de drukke verkeersweg lopen (op bovenstaande foto zie je een soort totempaal: de Marker al helemaal links staan).

Loop door tot deze "totempaal": de Marker.


Bestudeer de Marker, die aangeeft waar je de Natureluur kunt vinden. Het is vanaf het begin een essentieel onderdeel van het 'kernverhaal' van de Natureluur.

Het is geen gewoon wegwijsbord, maar een dierenhotel, ontworpen door kunstenaar Aad Kruiswijk in 2012. De paal bevat verschillende kamers waar bijen, mussen, merels, vleermuizen en lieveheersbeestjes zich extra op hun gemak voelen en graag overnachten.

Bovenaan de paal bevindt zich windmolens die, wanneer het waait, energie leveren voor de lampjes in het hotel. Aad gebruikte sloopmateriaal uit de buurten van Nieuw-West om dit unieke dierenhotel te creëren.

Walk from Buiten to the Natuurkamer

There are two possibilities:

  1. Starting at Buiten:
    Walk outside and then turn left toward the cable car. You can walk along the water either to the left or right.

  2. Bypassing Buiten:
    Walk straight ahead, keeping Buiten on your left and the cable car on your right.


    Continue walking until you reach a zebra crossing.


    Cross the street and immediately turn left. Walk 120 meters along the busy road. (In the photo above, you can already see the Marker - a kind of totem pole - on the far left.)

Continue walking until you reach this "totem pole", the Marker.


Study the Marker, which indicates where to find the Natureluur. From the very beginning, it has been an essential part of the Natureluur's core story.

This is not just an ordinary signpost—it is a wildlife hotel, designed by artist Aad Kruiswijk in 2012. The pole contains various compartments where bees, sparrows, blackbirds, bats, and ladybugs can feel at home and spend the night.

At the top of the pole, windmills generate energy for the hotel's lights when the wind blows. Aad used reclaimed materials from the neighborhoods of Nieuw-West to create this unique wildlife hotel.
